Assure that tank/ compartment has an updated safe for hot work ticket and that requirements of the ticket have been met. (Example: ventilation, lighting, safety equipment etc.)

Assure that conditions of the tank/compartment have not changed since the ticket was written. (Example: fuel run back, unsafe working conditions, etc.)

Assure that a Work Authorization Form (WAF) ticket is on the job site and that it is for the specific job being accomplished, no work will be accomplished without a WAF posted at location of repairs

Assure that any other safety issues are complied with that relate to the specific job being accomplished (Example: special staging, face shields for grinding, protective clothing for hot work related jobs, breathing apparatus with correct cartridges, etc.)

Assure that Earl' s Torch Safety Procedures, including testing, are utilized for all torch work

Assure that fire watches are assigned and maintained in the proper position.

Assure that you are trained or qualified for the work you are assigned to do (Example: JLG, forklift, welding, brazing, special electrical / mechanical repairs and etc.)

Assure that you and personnel working under your direction are working as safely and as productively as possible maintaining quality control at all times

Assure that job site is left in a safe and clean condition prior to departure

Assure that a 30-minute cool down period has been accomplished in hot work areas

Assure that personnel have work package and the necessary drawings, technical manuals, or specifications required for them to adequately accomplish their work assignments

Required Education/Training

Good knowledge of shipboard spaces.

Must have the basic knowledge of weld symbols.

Experience (type and preferred # of years)

Ability to gain access to all local bases. Must be able to gain access to all work locations, including government and private ship yards and/or vessels.

Able to work different shifts.

Standard tools for a welder.

Good knowledge of shipboard spaces.

Able to life 50 lbs.

Must have the basic knowledge of weld symbols.

Able to follow instructions.

Must pass HY-80 Pipe test 6G (SMAW).

Must pass Flux-core HY 80 test.

Must pass Aluminum Plate test.

Must pass Stainless Plate test.

Tack weld 11018 ( SMAW).

Basic Knowledge of weld power source.

Vision Requirements: The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm' s reach or performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as ones by

electricians, technicians, service people, painters, mechanics, etc.
