Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifies and implements processes needed to achieve required environmental & safety guidelines.
Ensures the compatibility & execution of all department system functions.
Responsible for the identification of suitable verification at appropriate stages in the realization of product.
Responsible for the clarification of standards of acceptability for all features and requirements, including those that contain a subjective element.
Responsible for reporting the progress and implementation of the provisions of the Health and Safety Policy Manual.
Responsible for assuring that the Health and safety System is implemented at all levels of the organization. Employee is a member of the management team with the necessary authority to accomplish and authorize implementation.
Acts as the liaison for third party auditors.
With the President, Chief Operations Officer, and company staff conducts Management Reviews to assess its continued suitability, effectiveness, and future direction.
Responsible for Preventive Action and Corrective action.
Responsible for tracking and communicating statistical metrics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
5 7 years in Environmental, Safety and Health in the marine repair/construction industry preferable.
Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Must be able to manage a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to delegate authority, tasking and follow through to ensure successful completion.
Must show proof of work eligibility in the United States.
Formal certification and training as a Safety and Environmental technician or higher desired. Equivalent on-the-job training and experience may be substituted.
High School diploma or equivalent. 4 year degree preferred.
Experience and knowledge of the construction and marine industry.
OSHA 30 OSHA 5400 Preferred.
