NSC Technologies is currently hiring a seasoned Shipyard Firewatch Supervisor for immediate work in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5+ years experience managing large production crews.
  • Coordinates activities of the firewatch/laborer crews
  • Consults with other leads, coordinators, supervisors and members of management
  • Oversees firewatch coordinators and assigns daily activities and tasks
  • Responsible for communicating with vendors, customer and employees on issues, safety concerns and general business communication
  • Responsible for estimating staffing needs for awarded assignments
  • Monitors departments to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
  • Reviews reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or to suggest changes.
  • Prepares or presents reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes, or other items affecting businesses services.
Shipyard Firewatch Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Formulating, organizing and monitoring interconnected projects
  • Deciding on suitable strategies and objectives
  • Coordinating cross-project activities
  • Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities
  • Apply change, risk and resource management
  • Assume responsibility for the program s people and vendors
  • Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI
  • Resolve projects higher scope issues
  • Prepare reports for program directors
Shipyard Firewatch Supervisor Job Qualifications:
  • Must have 5 years experience within a shipyard and marine environment
  • Must have 5-7 years of managing crews
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectivly with customers and other business contacts
  • Must be knowlegdeable of the firewatch profession
  • Must be able to complete OHSA 10, Safety orientation, WAF training, and any other trainings as requested
  • Must be able to obtain DBIDS and be granted ship access
