NSC is Hiring for a growing specialty designer and fabricator of custom industrial welded products, we are seeking an Estimator/Engineer who is self-driven, motivated, and reliable. The ideal candidate is capable of completing complex estimates on time, and with a high degree of accuracy.

Job Title: Estimator/Engineer (Custom Manufactured Products)

Summary/Objective: The Estimator/Engineer is responsible for developing preliminary designs, providing complete cost estimates and writing proposals for custom industrial steel and alloy welded fabrications. The Estimator/Engineer must be a self-starter with the ability to assemble estimates with minor supervision and guidance. The Estimator/Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player with good communication skills, and must have the organizational skills to manage several estimates at one time.

Essential Functions:

Review all project documents including Instructions to bidders, scope of work, technical specifications, and drawings

Develop preliminary designs of custom welded projects including ASME Code pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and industrial products.

Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure coverage on all scopes of work

Develop and distribute material, machining, and subcontractor requisitions to suppliers and vendors via one-on-one meetings or email

Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required which may result in travel on occasion
Thoroughly review all take-off and pricing for completeness on all self-performed work

Review in detail assigned subcontractor and vendor quotations for full compliance with the plans and specifications

Develop detailed labor estimates.

Develop final project cost estimates and obtain internal review and approval.

Write proposals and submit to clients after internal review and approval.
Upon award of projects, assist in procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment as required

Lead turnover/transition meetings with the Operations team
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1, design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers, and MS Excel is essential.

Ability to write clear technical proposals using MS Word is essential.
