PLM Business Analyst
Hourly Pay: $35 per hour. Work week: Monday-Friday 8-5pm. Weekly Pay!
Roles & Responsibilities
Working on a PDM/PLM team to provide end user support, troubleshooting and application development. Application development includes reviewing business requirements, proposing technical solutions, and implementing enhancements using application widgets, and various software coding techniques and languages. Evaluates computer technologies and provides final recommendations and direction to company leaders and personnel to ensure the optimum utilization of all hardware and software equipment and facilities. Consults management regarding cost effective opportunities to enhance or improve computer utilization. Participates in the capital equipment budgeting process providing technical leadership in the development of tactical and strategic plans to meet the automation needs of the organization and/or division. Performs functional reviews and provides recommendations on RCE s (Request for Capital Equipment) for hardware and software relating to these technologies. At divisional level develops a global view of the organization or division s needs for related computer resources through the development of an on-line inventory of computer resources and the tracking of equipment availability status. Manages a loaner program for lending terminals and other technical resources to qualified requesters for business purposes. Manages the daily activities of computing facilities computer support technicians and/or other technical staff as required by organizational needs. Manages the set-up and installation of computer equipment and coordination of communication tie-ins ensuring a timely response to organizational requirements. Oversees the scheduling of the installation maintenance and test of software and hardware as required by department function. Participates regularly in technology exchange opportunities including seminars user groups vendor presentations conferences etc. To maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of computer related technologies. Provides when appropriate written reports of findings and evaluations and distributes to appropriate internal management and technical staff. Provides a focal point for coordination with vendors manufacturers and suppliers of related technologies to experiment with evaluate and report on their products and/or services as they relate to organizational requirements. Interfaces with end users to supply appropriate equipment and provide recommendations as required. Interfaces with other resource specialists and/or computer support staff at the divisional and/or functional levels to ensure consistency in direction and technical advice and the gathering of data for use in developing strategic plans for acquisition of related technological resources. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. NOTE: Responsibilities may differ slightly dependent upon incumbent s reporting relationship to Computer Support and Services organization or divisional unit: Divisional Level: Acts as liaison to Computer Support and Services organization relative to planning and acquiring EDP (Electronic Data Processing) resources. Provides technical user support in resolving all EDP related problems at the divisional level. CS&S Organization: Provides computer hardware and software support as requested. Responsibilities include the design development and presentation of technical training sessions relating to existing and emerging technologies as required.
Ability to work with Java and TCL; knowledge of Java Server Pages / Faces, application servers, Windows Server and Linux operating systems. Several years of experience working with these technologies. Interpretation of user requirements and generation of functional specifications. And the ability to propose alternative solutions that blend cost, function, and maintainability to peers on the PLM team and user community. PLM system support requires individuals that can work with object models and meet the challenge of complex programming logic .
Knowledge of Dassault Systemes Enovia PLM or other PLM software. Familiarity with engineering and configuration management processes. CAD software, e.G. Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks. Data Migration - analyze data from source system, transform it, and load to target system. Potentially with very large data sets. Configuration control of source code, migrating changes across development systems, analyzing changes with tools like Beyond Compare and working with IDEs, such as Eclipse. Troubleshooting multi-tier Java applications. E.G., debugging application code and tracing transactions to understand performance issues.
Experience supporting and developing enterprise web applications. Including application upgrades, system integration and data migration.
Bachelor' s Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience with Engineering Design processes, including working in or developing a Model Based Engineering Environment.
