PLANNER/SCHEDULER - NAVY SHIP REPAIR
Location: Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
Responsibilities of the PLANNER/SCHEDULER
The PLANNER/SCHEDULER will develop schedules using Deltek Open Plan to meet requirements to support DoD contracts. The candidate will report to the Scheduling manager. The candidate will interact daily with the program management team members (Finance, Ship Sups, Project Managers, Program Managers, Craft Managers, Safety & QA), Subcontractor management team members and Government customer employees.
Maintain schedule data across multiple CMAV projects, generally over 200 activities per project
Create project schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion dates according production forecasts or customer work specifications and drawing orders.
Maintain and perform validation of project schedule configurations to meet industry standards for quality health check requirements for status and reporting.
Organize and meet with production and subcontractors to gather status and review impact to key milestones and events.
Provide project schedule analysis to Project Team, listing critical path activities to key milestones and events, displaying activities that are behind schedule to baseline.
Ensure compliance with company scheduling procedures to set and maintain baseline schedules.
Initiate schedule risk mitigation meetings with all key Project Stakeholders to recover schedule.
Maintain continuous communication with Customer, Project Managers and Project Teams on the progress of the project and schedule.
Prepare schedule narratives describing the status of assigned projects with weekly deliverables.
Create what if scheduling scenarios based on potential new and growth work.
Ensure that requirements of the safety handbook are properly followed and enforced.
Requirements of the PLANNER/SCHEDULER
Must be US Citizen
High School Graduate or GED
Must be able to obtain and maintain base access to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam
Must be able to work from 6am to 2: 30pm M-F with OT as needed
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook & PowerPoint) and have strong Microsoft Excel skills or prior scheduling software experience.
Must be able to adapt quickly to new software applications and concepts.
Must have the ability to work in a fast paced high volume production environment
Must be able to board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights.
Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment.
Experience with Deltek Open Plan scheduling software
Minimum 2 years Ship Repair or Navy experience
Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution in Business or Finance
Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass background screening
to obtain a DOD DBIDS Credential
